TeaTimer 1.4

Actually, I finished the work on TeaTimer 1.4 nearly one month ago, but since I moved to a new server and had some problems with the domain transfer, I delayed the release of the new version.

In this release, I implemented a few user requested features, upgraded the jQuery version and fixed a minor bug. TeaTimer now remembers the last timer target and it is now possible to switch off the … is ready in the alarm message. If you click on the ready in label, a select box opens. If you choose ready in, TeaTimer will alarm you with e.g. «Tea is ready». If you choose in, it will just say e.g. «Coffee Time».

If you want to keep the Growl message open until you click it, go to System Preferences » Growl » Applications, select TeaTimer and edit the settings as you wish.

Hello, I like TeaTimer, but I have a problem. I use TeaTimer in work and in work I have switch off all sounds (I won't disturb my colegues). My suggestion: Could you add in TeaTimer fullscreen blinking - sililar feature is in Terminal windows when you enable Advanced Feature –> Visual Bell in Terminal.app Preferences? It could be very usefull for me :-)

    Thanks

And here is one use you probably didn't imagine: our daughter is 4.5 years old, and we can't get her off the computer when she starts visiting children's sites. I've downloaded Tea Timer, and set the message to be "Computer is tired", and that to play back in Good News voice. Now, before she sits down, we set the timer, and when the voice announces that message, she leaves computer immediately. Thanks, man!

Hehe, that’s really nice. Thx for that comment. =)

Tea timer is a great widget. By far the best timer in fact. One useful feature would for me would be to enable the alarm to repeat every 5 seconds (with the option to cancel) so that I don't miss it. I would like to use it for cooking but there's a risk that if I don't hear the first beep I could toast my roast! :-)

Hello, thanks for that comment. You are not the first one asking for that feature. I’ll take that into consideration. If I have an idea how to implement it nice and smooth, it will be in 1.5. :-)

Hallo, I really like TeaTime. I just have one suggestion for the future. It'd be nice if Teatimer automatically sets the TeaTime back to last input untill changed manually.

    Thanks

Great widget, but I have a problem. The first few times I used it, it worked perfectly. Something happened, however, and it no longer sounds the alarm. The sound on my computer is on high. I've tested everything I can find. Any ideas what it could be? I'm running Snow Leopard. Thanks.

Does it make a sound, when you change the voice or alarm tone on the preference panel?

You can also check if ``say`` works on your Mac: Open the terminal and enter

$ say -v Vicki 'Hello World!'

It makes a sound when I change the sounds on my system preferences, but not on the widget preferences.

Not sure about Terminal, but I tried pasting that and nothing happened.

If you pasted it without the «$», there is a problem with the Voices on your Mac. If that’s the case, you should seek help in a specialized Mac forum.

If you pasted it with the «$», try it again without it … ;-)
